R. H. Smith & Sons acquires US brand Chasing Fireflies

One of the market leaders in the design, manufacture and distribution of all things dress-up and party, UK company R. H. Smith & Sons (trading as Smiffys) has acquired the US costume, party and apparel brand Chasing Fireflies, after its holding company went into administration.

Chasing Fireflies has long delighted parents and children across the US with its wide product offering which includes everything from occasionwear and costume through to party. The brand, which is a household name and has been a loyal customer of R. H. Smith for over a decade, struggled to maintain its brand value in recent years, following a number of acquisitions. The acquisition will see the revival of the much-loved family favourite.

“As a brand that celebrates childhood, we will deliver the high-quality and unique product design that Chasing Fireflies is renowned for,” said Dominique Peckett, director at R. H. Smith, “along with excellent customer service that embodies the R. H. Smith and Sons ethos.”
