Amscan focuses on World Book Day

With just three weeks to go until World Book Day 2020, Amscan is looking forward to seeing book lovers all over the UK dressing up as their favourite literary characters!

Taking place on Thursday 5 March, the day sees children of all ages dressing up to pay tribute to their favourite characters from their favourite books.

“We have an extensive collection of costumes and wearable accessories to help children become their favourite character for World Book Day or Book Week,” said Charlotte Terry, marketing executive at Amscan.

“The event is a key dress-up occasion in the calendar and we are continually developing and expanding the range of both licensed and generic styles to keep in line with the latest trends.”

Amscan’s licensed costumes have been proving particularly popular over recent years with a portfolio which includes some of the world’s most loved literary characters such as Dr Seuss The Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and 2, as well as The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Elmer. Classic story book characters and historical costumes also remain top choices, from Mad Hatters, to Royal characters and witches and wizards.

“For 2020 we are excited to have launched our Warner Bros. licensed dress-up collection, with a great variety of styles for both children and adults,” continued Charlotte. “Styles included in Volume 1 of the collection will be available for Book Week and include leading characters from the Wizard of Oz, superheroes from the DC Universe and Scooby-Doo. We have also added Doctor Who and Paddington Bear costumes!”
