Party City Manager Charged With Embezzlement

A Party City store manager in California has been arrested for suspected embezzlement from his Bakersfield store.

Scott Kavanagh, manager of a branch of Party City based on Stockdale Highway in Bakersfield, California, was arrested on 18 December for allegedly embezzling thousands of dollars from the store.

Scott has been officially accused of embezzling at least $25,000 since November 2017 and is set to appear in court in early January.

There are approximately 900 Party City locations in North America. The majority of Party City stores are owned by the parent company, Party City Holdco, while around 150 of the locations are stand-alone franchises.

In a statement to 17 News, a Party City spokesperson said the company is cooperating with law enforcement.
