Balloon Web Covers LA Landmark

An enormous balloon web, made of 13,000 colourful balloons, covered the iconic downtown Los Angeles’ Grand Central Market for its 100th birthday.

The showstopping installation was created by Jihan Zencirli of Geronimo Balloons, whose installations have previously graced The Broad and storefronts in Echo Park.

The colourful addition covered the Hill Street facade of the Grand Central Market building, and featured 13,000 balloons of different sizes.

Jihan has been working with her team of balloon artists since 2011 and has decked out parties, events, street corners and storefronts with increasingly ambitious balloon installations. Balloons are Jihan’s medium and she has become a hugely popular figure both locally and on Instagram.
