Having launched in the summer of 2020, party and gifting specialist, Talking Tables, introduced its first range of home compostable napkins, and is now on course to becoming B Corp accredited.
This is a company that places its people at the very heart of what it delivers; a business that allocates a wellness budget for each member of staff and gives all team members two volunteer days a year for them to support the local community and ‘give back.’ Supporting good cause runs through the DNA of the business, who, each year, even sets itself an annual target for donating to charities or supporting initiatives such as the National Garden Scheme’s Great British Garden Party event.
So, it really wasn’t much of a step change when Talking Tables took up the pledge to support the planet through its business success, too.
Today, the company is on track to becoming B Corp accredited. In fact, when Products of Change caught up with founder Clare Harris ahead of Spring Fair, the team had hit 93 per cent fulfillment of the stringent B Corp criteria – a major coup for any business, let alone a business that’s in the consumer products game. Harris will be first to admit that rolling sustainable solutions and measures out across the business in such as manner ‘has been a challenge,’ but with a natural alignment to the values of sustainability built into the firm’s DNA – it’s been a journey that has seemed “only the most very natural one to us.”
