Monkey Business Makes Move

Reigate party shop Monkey Business has moved into a new premises, celebrating the occasion with a special opening night party on Halloween.

The popular UK party supplies shop, which sells balloons, fancy dress, decorations and partyware, has moved into a vacant unit in Lesbourne Road as the lease was due to expire on the old premises.

Despite being well-established as a local destination party retailer for the last 24 years, the relatively new owners, Joe and Maria Mulligan, only took control of the business in May this year.

Joe said the opening night party – which included trick or treating for the kids – was ‘a little gathering to welcome in the locals’.

The new shop has already had a make-over, with a wide range of new products and a fun road map carpet throughout (thanks to the couple’s five-year-old son Seamus).

“We are doing a lot more fancy dress in the new premises, party ware, party bags – pretty much everything to do with party supplies,” said Joe. “We’re also going to try and squeeze some toys in here as well because there are no toy shops in Reigate anymore.”
