Mojoes Fancy Dress To Close

UK-based fancy dress shop Mojoes, which has been in business in Blackpool for more than 35 years, will be closing down next month.

Owner Jennifer Hayes – who took the shop over after her parents, who founded the business, retired – has dedicated her last two decades to the costume hire and retail business but believes the time has come to move on, thanks to trade being hit hard by the internet and online shopping.

“I will be sad to to see it go,” she said, “as I have lots of happy memories. But the way the business is going, and looking at the economic situation, I decided it was time to close.”

“It’s been a lot of fun over the years,” she continues. “When you’re running a fancy dress hire shop, you’re seeing people at their best, planning a good night and I’ve loved it.”

Jennifer has tried to sell the shop, but unfortunately there was no interest. The closing down sale has now officially started and the doors will close for the final time in mid-March.
