Lincolnshire’s Party Planet up for sale

After 26 years in business, party indie, Party Planet is on the market.

Owner Gail Brocklebank, told Partyworldwise.net: “We are now starting to plan for our future and have decided it’s time to sell our lovely shop. We are so proud of the shop and its excellent reputation, we very much want it to carry on the work we’ve started.

“The shop itself is comprised of around 3,000 square feet of shopping space and a small team of eight friendly and knowledgeable staff who pride themselves on their customer service. In store we have a vast selection of merchandise, with over 14,000 lines of stock.”

Balloon decor is the shop’s number one seller and the team works hard to educate itself on the latest products and techniques in order to continue providing up to date, high standard and innovative balloon designs. Currently, balloons can be pre-ordered for collection, or consumers can make use of the delivery service which covers the whole of Lincolnshire.

Party Planet has a strong base of corporate customers which order for promotional events and personalised balloons with their logos.

Fancy dress and accessories are the next biggest seller. In Lincoln, the university is continually expanding and there is a large number of partying students who regularly have theme nights so cowboy hats, golf visors and police accessories are a must.

Halloween is the biggest season, but Party Planet makes the shop spooky and puts special lighting in, creating an atmosphere and customers travel from miles around to bring the kids for a day out and shop the ranges.

Gail said: “It’s also our favourite time of year and that’s why we go to town with dressing up and making it memorable.”

Current suppliers are Amscan, Unique Party, Oaktree, Special Cakes for Special Ocassions (formerly Anniversary House), Smiffys, Wicked Costumes, Pioneer Europe, Snazaroo, Balloonmarket, Greetings House, Boland, Party Deco, Hootyballoo, Club Green, GO international and Culpitt.

The business is on the market with Mundys and is available to let by way of assignment or new lease. The price includes all stock and business fixtures and fittings, including the delivery van.
