The leading balloon supplier donates $2,000 to World Ocean Day and creates new website section dedicated to sharing its knowledge and achievements in sustainability.
Gemar places sustainability as a high priority in its business and as part of its production process, focuses its environmental efforts in three main areas:
Natural products
All of Gemar’s balloons are made from caoutchouc, a natural and renewable material.
Reducing carbon footprint
An analysis showed that the annual CO2 sequestration of a rubber plantation averages at 36.7 tonnes ha-1 yr-1. Gemar’s manufacturing process saves 29.09 tons of carbon for each ton of balloons manufactured.
Packaging
All of Gemar’s packaging is either reusable, recyclable and/or FSC certified.
To communicate its sustainability message and share its knowledge in the area, Gemar has created a new section of its website dedicated to the topic.
In addition, Gemar supports a range of organisations and has donated $2,000 to protecting and restoring our oceans. The company supports the 30×30 goal and has signed the petition to protect at least 30% of the ocean by 2030.
