Frozen II launches across the UK

Today (Friday 22 November) is the official UK release date for Frozen II, the hotly anticipated sequel to Disney’s 2013 breakout hit Frozen, the biggest animated movie ever.

The launch – which at this time of year is as much about the associated merchandise and franchise potential as the movie itself – comes after months of carefully co-ordinated press campaigns, red carpets and preview events.

The original Frozen was a huge trend across dress-up and party merchanise and the second movie is expected to give the Elsa, Anna and the rest of the franchise another boost as a new generation of children embrace the story.

Pioneer Europe has already released its Frozen II balloon and partyware collection, while Amscan has also launched a fresh new balloon range. For dress-up, Rubies UK has released a range of new costumes and Mask-arade masks at various price points, while American dress-up company Disguise launched its Frozen II collection pre-Halloween.

Earlier this week, Claire Grasby, md of Party Delights, spoke to BBC Breakfast and revealed that the franchise is already accounting for about 50% of girl’s party sales.
