Five minutes with: Charlotte Cox, Amscan

Hi Charlotte! It was great to catch up with you at Spring Fair earlier in the year. Was it a good show for you? What was your personal highlight?

“Hi Jacqui, the Spring Fair is always a great chance to showcase our new ranges. This year we displayed our expanded dress up collection which received a great response. A highlight would have to be the launch of the Sempertex latex balloons. There was always a buzz around that section of the stand.”

How’s business been since then? Have you seen much interest around the royal wedding?

“We’ve seen the momentum for Royal Wedding celebrations build over the past few weeks and now with just over a week to go there is definite excitement for the big day! We’ve had increased demand for our Great Britain themed product which includes everything from waving flags, to tableware, bunting and more.”

Amscan launched a new Halloween catalogue earlier this year – what’s the big thing we should look out for in there?

“It’s difficult to pick just one! We have a stylish new collection of Halloween slogan themed tableware, decorations and balloons with phrases such as ‘if you’ve got it haunt it’, perfect for those wanting something more sophisticated. We also have some great new Day of the Dead costumes.”

Tell us what you expect this summer’s biggest sellers will be for Amscan? What’s your favourite new line for 2018?

“Our new Hawaiian themed lines are already proving hugely popular. Pastel colours are also on trend which our new Confetti Fun birthday range features, combined with hot stamped metallic accents; this would be my favourite new range.”

And finally – what’s the one thing from Amscan’s portfolio that you think all party retailers should keep in stock?

“Unicorn foil balloons! They are still a key trend; our range by Anagram includes everything from a Mini Shape up to an AirWalker.”

Thanks Charlotte! Have a great weekend.
