Creative Party embraces sustainability for 2020

Trend-led party product company Creative Party has been focusing on a number of new eco-friendly lines at this year’s Spring Fair, currently taking place in Birmingham, UK, at the NEC.

Speaking to product and marketing director Holly Forder, it is clear that the company takes its eco-credentials and responsibility as a supplier of disposable product very seriously.

“We have been eliminating plastic from our tableware ranges for some time now,” said Holly.  “There are a few bits left in this year’s catalogue, but we have been rationalising the portfolio and are pleased to offer paper alternatives to a number of key items this year.”

“These lines include tablecloths and loot bags,” added product and marketing manager Shayna Bowles. “All new lines for 2020 are made of paper and can be easily recycled.”

One of the biggest eco-lines for the company is its new range of high-quality Eco-Flex paper straws. What sets them apart from the paper straws that have been popping up on the high street over the last 12 months?

“Quality! They are 4-ply so they don’t disintegrate in the same way that normal paper straws do and they have a bend in them, which is really unique to us. They’re totally recyclable, unlike some others which have been printed on with foil, so they are fully biodegradable.”

“We’ll be maintaining that approach going forward,” explained Holly, “across all of our collections. We are also working on adding consumer-focused information on the packaging which will outline how they can dispose of product responsibly.”
