Cheapest Halloween supermarket revealed

The cheapest supermarket for Halloween shopping has been revealed by experts at British online marketplace, with Tesco proving to be the most competitively priced.

The researchers considered a typical Halloween shopping list from the ‘big four’ supermarkets, which are all placing a major focus on Halloween this year.

The supermarkets analysed were Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s, with the data collected at the beginning of October 2019. Each supermarket’s own-brand products (or cheapest alternatives if not available) were chosen.

The list featured a wide range of items, including decor, partyware, costumes and accessories. It did not include food, drink or trick or treat sweets.

Despite not having a pumpkin carving kit available, the Tesco shop was the cheapest by some margin at just £26, while Sainsbury’s came in at a hefty £58.

Asda’s shop cost £32.71 and Morrisons (which didn’t include the wig) totalled £37.
