Balloon artist publishes children’s book

Balloon artist Melanie Howard has published a new storybook which has been illustrated with balloon animals in order to help children understand the need for social distancing.

Melanie, owner of Balloon Artworks in Derbyshire, UK, has combined her balloon skills with her love of writing and photography to create the book, ‘Quince Cottonball Keeps His Distance.’

Melanie has illustrated the bok with a mixture of balloon animal creations photographed in the Derbyshire countryside with photographs of real animals, making the book particularly appealing to children.

“Parents are having to instil in children a new way of behaving which can be difficult and frightening for children to understand,” she said.

“Quince Cottonball Keeps His Distance is a feel-good story children can enjoy for its own sake, as well as being useful for parents and carers to help them get across messages about safe distancing without it being scary.”

Currently, Quince Cottonball Keeps His Distance is available on Kindle as an e-book, with a print version due to follow soon.
