Coachella Leads The Way For Festival Fancy Dress

Californian music festival Coachella is one of the first high-profile festivals of the year, giving the first glimpse of what’s likely to be hot in festival fashion and – most importantly – fancy dress, for the rest of the season.

Over 200,000 people attended what is now one of America’s biggest festivals on its opening weekend, giving a preview into what festival-goers are likely to be asking for throughout the summer.

Glitter, oversized jewels and face paints are as strong as ever, while flower crowns have grown in both size and popularity. For 2018 the rule looks to be the bigger and more colourful the flowers, the better!

The fancy dress and outlandish outfits aren’t just for the audience though; Saturday night’s headliner, Beyonce, opened her two-hour set in full Egyptian queen-themed costume.

With Beyonce’s performance trending on Google and up to 200,000 people searching for information on her performance at any one time, it’s likely that we’ll be seeing more Egyptian headdresses and Cleopatra-style crowns throughout summer 2018.
