A balloon-based nativity display has been attracting attention after being created outside the Zion Baptist Church in Tenterden, Kent (UK).
It’s traditional for towns and villages throughout the UK to put on nativity scenes to get the yuletide season off to a festive start, but this novelty nativity has made the headlines thanks to its unusual modelling material.
The unusual take on the traditional story has been created by artist Richard Renouf outside the Zion Baptist Church in Tenterden high street.
The display took two days to create, which involved Richard working through the night to ensure his creation was completed on time.
The characters also stand under special UV lights so night-time visitors can enjoy the scene and locals have been flocking to enjoy the scene.
Church pastor, Rev. Neal Stanton was delighted with the results, which were unveiled at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on. “It is a new way of promoting the story behind Christmas,” he said. “This is the first time anything like this has been done in Tenterden. It was a little bit last-minute, but it has all come together really nicely.”
