UK tabloid newspaper The Sun has focused on novelty Christmas suits in a recent fashion feature looking forward to the sartorial choices likely to be made over the coming festive season.
In the feature, which began by highlighting the increasing popularity of the novelty suit, the consumer-focused publication covered everything from tartan and sprouts to novelty tuxedos.
Indicating that the suits are the next step on from inflatable turkey costumes and even the ubiquitious Christmas jumper, the article points out that the suits are an ideal way to remain stylish while still embracing the Christmas spirit.
“For gentlemen who prefer to be suited and booted, you can combine fancy dress and sharp tailoring with a men’s Christmas suit,” it read. “Typically consisting of a printed festive jacket and trousers, men’s Christmas suits are a favourite for work parties and New Year’s Eve bashes.”
Suits highlighted in the article included OppoSuits’ Braveheart design (best tartan), Smiffys’ sprout design (best showstopping), Suitmeister’s blue snowman design (best all-rounder) and Wicked Costumes’ reindeer print (best suit jacket and tie).
