UK tabloid newspaper The Sun focused on St. Patrick’s Day fancy dress in a recent feature which looked forward to the costume choices likely to be made for next week’s celebration.
In the feature, which began by highlighting the wide variety of dress-up and party options available, the consumer publication covered everything from leprechauns to shamrock suits.
Of course, green is the colour of the moment, with a range of Irish-themed prints and designs all making the most of the celebratory nature of the occasion.
“Whether you’re a novelty dress pro or someone a bit shyer, there’s a St. Patrick’s Day costume that will work for you – you can even get away with swapping out a black blazer for a green one for an easy way to get into the spirit of the day,” the article stated.
Costume company OppoSuits was highlighted, thanks to its 20% off offer in the run-up to the big day (Tuesday 17 March), while Wicked Costumes and Bristol Novelty both made the list twice.
“We love seeing our products in the media – especially having two on the list by The Sun,” said Bristol Novelty’s marketing manager Fran Hales. “St. Patrick’s Day is a key holiday which we are looking to expand. We already have lots of accessories and party wear for the day including our new clover bowler hat, green tutu and of course Irish bunting.”
