Talking Halloween with Angels Fancy Dress

With Halloween now just around the corner, Emma Angel, director of Angels Fancy Dress and Angels Distribution, shares her plans for the big day.

As last-minute preparations take place for Halloween 2018, what do you expect from the big day?

“While Halloween has become increasingly competitive over recent years, we still expect to see a huge crowd once the big day gets closer. Our central London store always fills with last-minute shoppers in the week before Halloween. It falls on a Wednesday this year, so retailers should be ready to be busy up until the beginning of November, as there will still be a lot of parties after the 31st.”

How should retailers be preparing for it?

“Retailers will be making sure that they’re stocked up, as costumes get sold so quickly once we get closer to Halloween. They will also decorating their stores and getting them ready for the rush to begin. We start Halloween store installations from the end of August!”

What’s your top tip for this year?

“Keep products by the till, such as fake blood, that customers will add to their order when they’re checking out. This is a brilliant way to increase sales, as it’ll help jog customers memories of things they might have otherwise forgotten and will get them spending that little bit extra.”

What has been selling well in the run-up so far?

“Tinsley Transfers have been selling well, both to retailers and to consumers. Especially lines such as the 3D FX Transfer Accessory Kits, including ‘Devil Horns’ and ‘Glass Shards’. These realistic special effects kits mean that customers can create a really strong, scary look with very little effort.

InCharacter’s baby costumes are also a big hit, especially the Halloween ones such as ‘Monster-Boo’, ‘Witch and Famous’ and ‘Count Cutie’. They’re very cute, and a lot of fun, and they let the whole family join in the excitement of dressing up for the big night.”

Thanks Emma – have a great Halloween!
