Spotlight thrown on London’s fancy dress destinations

A spotlight has been thrown upon a number of London’s fancy dress and costume destination in the run-up to Halloween as popular online lifestyle magazine and resource Londonist.com rounded up what it deemed to be the best fancy dress retailers in the UK capital.

The article featured a mix of affordable retail shops as well as more specialist costume hire stores. Special mentions are given to Angels and Mad World Fancy Dress for their work with costume departments across the television and film industries, while Prangsta’s glamorous handmade costumes sit in stark contrast to the novelty masks and costumes available from Bermondsey’s Fancy Dress Town.

The article also linked to each retailer’s online presence in addition to giving the full shop address.

That list in full:

  • Escapade fancy dress costume shop, Camden
  • Angels costume shop, Shaftesbury Avenue and Hendon
  • Prangsta Costumiers, New Cross
  • Mix Max fancy dress shop, Soho
  • Mad World Fancy Dress, Old Street and Strand
  • Fancy Dress Town, Bermondsey
  • The Viking Store, Walthamstow
