Spirit Halloween identifies top trends for this year

American specialist Halloween retailer Spirit Halloween has identified some of the top dress-up trends for this year, while also highlighting a number of ways that consumers can make the most of the spooky season.

The top trends seen at Spirit Halloween so far for Halloween 2020 are:

Harley Quinn, Beetlejuice, The Year 2020 (plague doctor, hazmat suits, ‘Karen’ costumes and Tiger King), Healthcare Heroes (doctor and nurse scrubs and masks) and Gaming – from cult classic Dungeons & Dragons to Fortnite and beyond.

“We believe the magic of Halloween is transformative,” said Steven Silverstein, president and ceo. “This year, more than any other, we need the escape that Halloween brings.”

In addition to on-trend costumes and accessories, Spirit Halloween is also offering a number of unique products and services this year, as it aims to make Halloween ‘safer and more thrilling’ than ever. Consumers can now get Halloween delivered to their doorstep with same-day contactless delivery from Instacart, ensuring that horror enthusiasts will have Spirit Halloween product at their fingertips.

“With Halloween just six weeks away, we want to make it even easier for people throughout the US to plan ahead for this year’s festivities,” said Chris Rogers, vice president of retail at Instacart. “With searches for ‘Halloween’ on Instacart up more than 650% year-over-year, it’s clear consumers are looking to get into the spirit of this festive holiday.”

Other suggestions from the Halloween expert include decorating your house if you can’t go trick-or-treating – and if you can, then make the most of innovative lines such as themed protective face masks and trick or treat bags on sticks to help keep your distance.
