Rubies launches Amelia Fang marketing campaign

Costume supplier, Rubies, has announced a new marketing campaign to support the release of its officially licensed Amelia Fang costume.

The campaign will combine content on both Rubies UK and the author, Laura Ellen Anderson’s social channels, meaning the costumes will reach an increased number of consumers.

Increased awareness of the latest licence in Rubies’ portfolio will come just in time for World Book Day on 3 March. The campaign has begun with a virtual ‘Ask Amelia’s Author’ event where fans of all ages can comment with any questions they might have about Amelia Fang, or about reading, writing or illustrating, which will then be answered by Laura herself in a video streamed on social media.

In the run-up to World Book Day, the campaign will continue to grow, and followers will have the unique opportunity to ‘become Amelia Fang’ for the event. To promote the arrival of the costumes coming into stock, Rubies and Laura will be cross promoting the giveaway on their social media channels. One winner will be able to win not only a costume, but also an exclusive signed original illustration from the creator of the series.

Next, on World Book Day itself, Rubies and Laura will be launching the last initiative. A competition for parents to post a photo of their child all dressed up in the official Rubies Amelia Fang costume, tagging Rubies Instagram page – @rubies_uk, to win a series of signed Amelia Fang books, published by Farshore.

Laura Ellen Anderson, creator, illustrator and author of Amelia Fang, commented: “I can’t wait to see all of Amelia’s fans react and interact with this series of competitions. To be able to share not only the costumes, but also unique signed prizes with the children and adults alike who look up to Amelia is a fantastic opportunity.”

Fran Hales, head of content and marketing at Rubies UK, added: “We are delighted to have Laura Ellen Anderson on board for our ambitious plans to promote Amelia Fang on World Book Day. We are so happy to be able to not only provide the costumes for so many aspiring readers (and vampires) but also to be able to bring the magic of Laura’s illustrations to life.

“Through our range of original and innovative marketing and content plans, fans of any age can win some wonderful prizes, from costumes to a signed illustration or signed books. For World Book Day, we hope that our endeavours will ignite that spark of a love of reading in many boys and girls around the country, and that they will discover the fang-tastic world of Amelia Fang.”

Amelia Fang costumes will be available to order from rubiesuk.com soon and are available in children’s size and also an accessory set.
