With less than seven weeks to go until the royal wedding, Mask-arade has reported that Prince Harry and his bride-to-be Meghan Markle have finally overtaken Donald Trump as the company’s bestselling masks.
As demand increases for products featuring the couple in the run-up to the wedding, Mask-arade has also pressed the button on 18,000 more masks to be produced this week in its Midlands-based production facility.
“We love the fact Trump has been selling so well but it will be nice to see the top sellers spreadsheet change,” said Ray Duffy, commercial director of Mask-arade. “The nation is really getting behind the new royal couple. We are seeing sales rising steadily and the royal wedding is a great early boost to the new year.”
“It is great that so many independent retailers have already started planning their ‘royal faces’ window display to drive footfall,” added Ray, who was unable to confirm whether he had scored an official invite to the nuptials which are taking place at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on 19 May.
Further afield, a retailer in Germany is giving away 500 Harry and Meghan masks to celebrate the royal wedding, while The Queens Pantry in Georgia USA has ordered lots of masks for the Royal Tea Party it will be staging on the big day.
As well as Prince Harry and Meghan, the Mask-arade ‘Royal collection’ also includes The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Kate Middleton, Prince William and even a Corgi.
