Pretend to Bee benefits from Buzz’s celebrity boost

Specialist children’s fancy dress manufacturer Pretend to Bee has benefitted from the celebrity boost given to its brand following a recent social media post by ex-McFly member Tom Fletcher.

With over 1.6 million followers on his Instagram account, Tom is a prolific influencer on social media, which he uses primarily to focus on his family of young children. He also writes children’s books – his latest being The Dinosaur That Pooped A  Princess.

This weekend, Tom Fletcher posted a video of himself singing while ably accompanied by his eldest son Buzz, who wore Pretend to Bee’s popular Natural History Museum T-Rex costume for the rendition. At the time of writing, the video has been viewed more than 520,500 times and Pretend to Bee has noticed a clear spike in sales since the broadcast.

‘The Natural History Museum collection is one of our most popular collections and so we were absolutely delighted to see Buzz Fletcher wearing the T-Rex costume,” said Kate Skitt, marketing manager at Pretend to Bee, “especially as he seemed fascinated by the details on the dress-up outfit.”

“We noticed a shift in sales almost immediately and with Christmas on the horizon, we know that this costume and others in that range will continue to sell quickly as the big day approaches,” added Kate.
