Children’s costume design company Global Solutions for Clothing (GSC) – home of Pretend to Bee dress-up brand – has acquired Nottingham-based play equipment brand Active Learning.
GSC is a third-generation family-run design and manufacture company – also based in Nottingham – with a 25 year heritage creating character children’s costumes, notably supplying to The Walt Disney Corporation throughout its retail operations worldwide.
Active Learning, which specialises in play equipment for young children, will become a part of the GSC portfolio immediately, creating a natural synergy with the company’s products that come under its Pretend to Bee children’s costume brand.
“Active Learning shares our core values and culture, with our products closely aligned,” states GSC managing director Harrison Palmer. “We are really excited to diversify our product range via the acquisition as we seek to grow and strengthen our business working with the Active Learning team.”
He added: “It is also a huge bonus to us that we can return to manufacturing in the UK, something we haven’t been able to do since 2014. Our customers and indeed Active Learning customers can expect continued customer service excellence alongside range extensions and new product development for both Active Learning and Pretend to Bee as we create new collections within this innovative, fast-moving sector.”
