PIEUK19 event hailed resounding success

With over 100 delegates attending PIEUK19 – the leading industry event for the UK balloon and party market – the weekend was hailed a resounding success.

Organised by balloon and party association NABAS, the event took place from 5 – 7 October 2019, featuring evening events, masterclasses and workshops and a fabulous gala dinner.

Feedback from instructors and delegates from across Europe has confirmed that with new skills learnt, new friends made, inspiration for the future and advice on how to take their businesses forward the event was everything that they expected and more.

“The training at PIEUK19 was fantastic,” said Therese Watson of Rising Elegance. “It had a great NABAS family atmosphere where we were encouraged to try everything. Beginners and old pros working together is the best education you can get.”

PIEUK19 also provided delegates with the opportunity to join in with a big build designed and delivered by the outstanding Tampilipe Corbelin and his team, which took place on Saturday 5 October 2019.

Over the following two days the event provided training from the fabulous Carla Romina Finali of Barcelona, Tampilipe Corbelin of Switzerland, Colin Myles and Stuart Davies (Qualatex), Chris Horne (Amscan), Rob Driscoll (The Balloon Bow Tie Guy), Liz Bylett (Follies Face and Body Art), Shelley Jefferson (Capel Manor) and Tris Cole (Jessops).

Courses over the weekend saw delegates learning skills from up-to-date and trending balloon designs, how to incorporate balloon twisting into balloon décor, floristry, photography and on-trend face painting designs.

Instructors also left the event feeling satisfied that they had been able to share their knowledge, with one instructor commenting: “The delegates at PIEUK19 have been the most receptive I’ve taught in a while.”

NABAS would like to thank everyone involved in pulling this event together including all those attending the event, the instructors, exhibitors and the sponsors of the event.

Sponsors included: Air Products plc, Amscam, BOC, Capel Manor College, CSC Imports (Neviti), CTI Balloons, Delights Direct, Go International, Grabo Balloons, Hi-float, Jessops, MGC Wholesale, Oaktree UK, Pioneer Europe, Premium Balloon Accessories, Progressive Party Europe and Tiger Feet Direct.
