PG Live 2019 lives up to its star billing

The international trade show dedicated to greeting cards has officially been declared a success, following two star-studded days of business, buying and fun.

This year’s PG Live, which took place from 4 – 5 June, was a runaway success, according to organiser Max Exhibitions. An impressive visitor list featured high-profile buyers and plenty of independents, including a number of party retailers who had travelled from across the UK looking to strengthen their card offering.

This year’s show was given an extra boost with not just one but two celebrity appearances. Tuesday saw culinary queen Prue Leith adding some zest to day one as she launched her card range with Ling Design, while Wednesday saw iconic fashion legend Dame Zandra Rhodes launching her colourful debut greetings collection with Musuems & Galleries.

Buyers were delighted with the quality and creativity shown by exhibitors, with Timothy Melgund, deputy chairman of Paperchase, describing the show as ‘remarkable and inspiring’ before enthusing about the ‘tons of great product’ on show.

“There is no doubt that everyone’s hard work paid off this year with another fantastic show,” said Warren Lomax, joint show director. “We would like to send a huge thank you to all of our tremendously creative exhibitors and of course all the visitors that came along and helped make this year’s PG Live such an amazing success. We are already looking forward to seeing you in 2020!”

The dates for the 2020 show have been confirmed as Tuesday 2 to Wednesday 3 June 2020.
