A number of leading lights from across the party and dress-up industry will be coming together tonight (Tuesday 11 September) to find out who has been named the winner of The Best Licensed Dress-Up or Partyware Range at this year’s Licensing Awards.
Rubie’s Masquerade, Unique Party, Christy’s By Design and R H Smiths & Sons (Smiffys) all made the shortlist, following the high-profile judging which took place earlier this summer.

- Disney Princess Belle Limited Edition from Rubie’s Masquerade
- Harry Potter Partyware Range from Unique Party
- Marvel Collection for George@Asda from Christy’s By Design
- Peter Rabbit TV Dress-Up Range for Asda from RH Smiths & Sons
- Roald Dahl Collection for F+F at Tesco from RH Smiths & Sons
Rubie’s Masquerade has also been shortlisted for The Innovation Award, for its hugely popular viral hit, the Jurassic World inflatable T-Rex. The costume – which has its own fan-created Facebook page – is up against a Sgt Pepper Jukebox, an Iron Man LED Suitcase and SEGA Sonic The Hedgehog Footwear, among others.
In addition to this, Amscan will be lending its magic touch to the pre-event drinks reception decor, while Smiffys is sponsoring the photobooth at the post-awards after-party.
Over 1,400 retailers, licensees and industry suppliers are set to attend tonight’s big event, which is taking place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
