Party City: Store closures announced

Following its Chapter 11 filing in January, Party City has announced that it will close 22 stores in total.

According to documents filed in Bankruptcy court in Houston, Texas, there will be ten stores closed and another 12 will be auctioned and sold off. It has not been announced when the closures will take place, and the company says more closures could occur.

The full list of the stores to be closed is as follows:

Five Points Shopping Centre – TX
223 W. 34th St – NY
2702 Martha Berry Rd – GA
Raleigh Mall – WV
Cartersville Crossing – GA
Stirling Slidell Shopping Centre – LA
Felch Street Shopping Centre – MI
Crossroads Commons Shopping Centre – IA
Bradley Commons – IL

The stores due to be auctioned off include:

Broadway Plaza – NY
East Hills Shopping Centre – MO
Jackson Crossing – MI
4047 24th Ave – MI
Martinsburg Mall – WV
Circle 9 Shopping Centre – OR
Belton Gateway – MO
Cache Road Square – OK
Boulevard Consumer Square – NY
Culver Ridge Plaza – NY
Fairplain Plaza – MI

The retailer operates over 800 stores, and owns the vast majority of these locations, according to the court papers.
