Love in Lockdown: Valentine’s Day 2021

A key date in the retail calendar, Valentine’s Day 2021 is particularly important for balloons, novelties and party products which in a strong position to pick up the trade lost by more expensive flowers and jewellery. Amscan’s head of marketing and design Jen Wilson gives her take on what the party and balloon market can expect to see for Valentine’s Day 2021.

“We are confident that for Valentine’s Day 2021 consumers will be looking to express their love, gratitude and thanks to those who have been important to them the last year – even more so than usual.

We have launched a new range of balloons for the season, which are available online now, and have ensured they include everything consumers may need, from the traditional ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ balloons, to rainbows of love and thanks, ready for however your customers want to celebrate and whoever they want to celebrate with! We don’t want to tie the celebration down to just the typical nearest and dearest and instead we are continuing the trend of celebrating everyone!

Amscan has also added to its portfolio of classic styles, adding further colourways to our Orbz and Marblez ranges. We also expect that Valentine’s Day stackers will be popular, expanding on the current trend, with air-filled deliveries likely to continue offering a great opportunity for balloon decorators.

Our Airloonz portfolio also allows customers to make a real statement and are available in a number of colours and styles – these are definitely a win, as are our wide range of letters, perfect for spelling out your own personalised message. Whatever that may be!”
