Less than a week to go until Sustainability in Licensing Conference kicks off

Join fellow party suppliers and retailers to gain vital sustainability knowledge and insight for your business next week – 24 and 25 June, 2021.

This year’s event, hosted by the publishers of Partyworldwide.net and Progressive Party magazine, follows an incredibly successful inaugural event last year, which welcomed over 500 visitors worldwide, and will again be hosted entirely digitally.

The packed two-day agenda will see insights and developments being shared by leading execs from Asda, Buyers Eye, Dayrize, The Eden Project, Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Hannah Mills, Hubbub, The Insights Family, Pack IDS, Recoup, Retail Economics, Sail GP, Tesco, UKIE, ZURU and more. The full agenda can be found on the SILC website here.

SILC’s aims are to inspire and inform how the dynamic licensing sector can continue to innovate and grow commercially, while not costing the planet. The conference will focus on…

  • What businesses are doing to drive sustainable practices
  • How the industry can use entertainment/content to drive social change
  • The changing landscape of legislation and global policy
  • Cross section working to catalyse sustainable development
  • The future retail and sustainable supply chain transformation

Melanie Beer, licensing director, EMEA, Amscan, which is one of the sponsors of the event, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to support SILC in their efforts to raise awareness of the need for sustainable products/packaging within the licensing industry, so we can all do our best to protect the planet for future generations.

“We’ve just appointed a sustainability manager at Amscan who is tasked with making the manufacturing of our products/packaging as sustainable as they can be.  To date, we are most proud of the WB DC Superhero costumes we launched in January 2021, that are made from 100% recycled costumes and are machine washable.”

Helena Mansell-Stopher, curator of SILC and founder of Products of Change (owner and organiser of SILC), added: “The sustainability agenda has moved on dramatically since we hosted SILC 2020 and we wanted to reflect this in this year’s line-up of presentations and panel discussions, focusing heavily on retail, legislation and how we, as an industry, can use brands to drive positive sustainable change.”

Tickets to SILC are just £100 (+VAT) and are available from www.sustainabilityinlicensing.com, or from Clare Hollick of Createvents (event support) on clare@createvents.co.uk or by calling 0118 334 0085.

As well as access to the two-day conference, delegates will also be able to check out the content on-demand for 30 days afterwards.

SILC 2021 has a strong roster of sponsors, leading brands who all share the vision. These include Amscan, BBC Studios, Change Plastic for Good, Character World, Dreamtex, GB Eye/Abysse, Hasbro, The Insights Family, Kids Industries, MDR Brand Management, Natural History Museum, Octane5, Open Beijing, TDP, ViacomCBS and Warner Brothers.
