Insurance Boost For BAPIA Members

Home-based members of Balloon and Party Industry Association (BAPIA) will now be able to benefit from increased business insurance cover.

The initial insurance offer – agreed with the well-established and respected SAGIC (Salvation Army General Insurance Company) – was made available at the beginning of the month. It allowed home-based balloon decorators to secure a specially negotiated business insurance deal which would cater for BAPIA’s members needs, covering both stock and equipment at a special members-only rate.

The initial deal offered a full year of business insurance for just £60, covering £4,000 of contents and £1,000 of equipment anywhere in the UK including while on hire. However, in response to member feedback, BAPIA has worked with its insurers and is now also able to offer an option for those looking for increased cover.

“Whether you are a shop-based retailer or a home-based decorator, it is important that you have adequate business insurance in place to protect you against any number of incidents such as theft, fire, accidental damage,” explained BAPIA chairman John Bowler.

There are two tiers of insurance available.

Gold cover – £80pa

£10,000 cover for business equipment/stock (£3,000 of which can be covered while on hire or in use or in transit anywhere in the UK).

Silver cover – £60pa

£4,000 cover for business equipment/stock (£1,000 of which can be covered while on hire or in use or in transit anywhere in the UK).
