H&P Expo: Special Events And Star Attractions

This year’s Halloween & Party Expo is packed full of more special events and show attractions than ever before. Here are some of the key highlights of the 2018 show which visitors won’t want to miss.

HAuNTcon Partnership

The new partnership with HAuNTcon brings the Halloween, party and haunt industries together under one roof and gives H&P Expo buyers unprecedented access to a further 400 leading exhibitors across the props, décor, special effects and make-up categories.

“Retailers who traditionally attend the Halloween & Party Expo will now have access to both events,” show organiser Marni Vinci explains, “with expanded opportunities to source one-of-a-kind props and décor as well as new chances to explore New Orleans and network with fellow industry professionals away from the show floor.”

HAuNTcon traditionally hosts pre-event and night-time tours and H&P Expo visitors will be able to enjoy tours of haunted attractions, vendor factories, escape rooms, Mardi Gras World, the Museum of Death and more.

The Haunted Trends Runway

Returning for its second year, the Haunted Trends Runway was a favourite from last year’s show and is returning to showcase the latest costume trends and new products. “We’ve expanded the runway this year to include an extra day of fashion shows, product launches, demonstrations and competitions,” says Marni, “and have a wide range of companies participating, including Dreamgirl, Hot Pink, Peaberry Maternity, Northstar Artisans, Pastease, Scared of My Shadow, Rubie’s and more.”

Artist Battleground

Held on the Haunted Trends Runway, this brand new make-up competition will see top make-up companies taking part in a live face-off onstage. The theme of the battleground will be revealed on the day, giving artists just four hours to transform their models. The competition will be presided over by celebrity judges Skin Wars fan favourite Kyle Vest (Blast Effects) and Nick Wolfe (Evil Twin FX).

The Brewing Boos & Booze Costume Ball

A night of networking and celebration for the entire industry – all in costume, naturally. This year’s party – which is free for all ticket holders – will be held at the iconic Generations Hall on Friday evening and is the perfect place to network, dance and celebrate the industry.

Philip Morris Tribute

An industry tribute to the late Philip Morris from Morris Costumes, this will be taking place on Friday 12 January on the Haunted Trends Runway at 12:15pm. The 15-minute presentation will include a short video about Philip’s life and will see Philip’s son Scott presenting some of his memorabilia and speaking about his legacy.
