Networking and social events are an important part of any trade show and it’s only natural that H&P Expo, the home of the party industry, has a whole host of opportunities for visitors to let their hair down.
Returning for this year’s show is a revamped version of the Friday Night Fashion Show. This popular attraction will be taking place in a new location, allowing more exhibitors to join in and offering better seating and amenities. The event will be taking place after the show floor closes on Friday evening, with an impressive 50+ exhibitors showcasing their products on the runway.
“This is just one of the unmissable events we will be running this year,” explained marketing director Samantha Grimaldi. “It starts straight after the show and runs through until 7pm, making it the perfect opportunity to see new products live and off the hanger. And of course there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy some delicious appetizers as well as the very exciting opportunity to win one of three $1,000 merchandise credit giveaways.”
Among the many new initiatives being introduced for the 2020 show is the extended shopping option on Saturday evening, which will allow for dedicated sourcing time. The additional hours then lead directly into the show’s famous networking party, the Brewing, Boos and Booze event.
The industry party will be held at Generations Hall from 8pm – 11pm, where all attendees are invited to come together and enjoy an open bar, appetizers, dancing and more. “The party is everything you would expect from the party and Halloween industry,” said Sam. “It’s an ideal opportunity to network and let your hair down in the company of friends and colleagues both old and new.”
Also back thanks to popular demand is the annual Artist Battleground make-up competition which Sam describes as ‘a real highlight of the show’. This year, retailers and haunters will be able to get involved by voting for their favourite look, using their SMART Event tap readers.
All of this serves to highlight exactly how much will be going on during the show. Does Sam have any advice for first-time visitors?
“There are many events and features not to miss so we advise starting to plan your trip as early as possible. In fact, for those coming into New Orleans early, we have a tour on Thursday of three haunted attractions in Mississippi. It includes full October-style experiences with actors and props as well as behind the scenes walkthroughs.”
