Family fancy dress: Rubie’s

Costumes for the whole family are becoming an increasingly common sight in the world of fancy dress, with consumer demand for this market growing. Rubie’s Danielle Costello explained what is on offer.

Family costumes are becoming a common sight in the world of fancy dress. Have you seen consumer demand for this market growing?

“Yes families love to get involved together! We have seen that The Incredibles range has been extremely popular for the whole family and we even have an Incredibles pet costume, allowing all the family you involved.”

Why do you think families are increasingly taking this group approach to dress-up?

“It’s a great time to have some family bonding and getting dressed up together which is fun for all the family. Also, social media has a key part to play as it’s become a popular trend for famous families to post pictures of their fancy-dress efforts. It has become an online competition to see who has the best fancy-dress family at Halloween and everyone is able to get involved!”

How many family collections do you offer and which styles are available?

“Rubie’s offers many ranges suitable for the whole family. Majority of our costumes come in children, adult and pet sizing. Perfect for the whole family.”

Which of your family collections are you expecting to do well in the coming months/ what has done well over the summer?

“The Incredibles have been very popular over summer and the range is showing no signs of slowing down! We expect parent and child matching costumes to be very popular in the upcoming months! We expect this will be a trend focused on Rubie’s DC range such as Batman and Joker, as well as our Marvel Avengers range.”

Do you have plans for any more collections in the future?

“Rubie’s is constantly innovating and developing! Keep your eyes peeled for innovation and new ranges to truly inspire imaginations.”
