Disguise adds Blippi and Kirby to licensed portfolio

US fancy dress and accessory company Disguise has added two new licences to its costume portfolio; preschool brand Blippi and gaming brand Kirby.

The North American rights for the smash hit preschool brand Blippi have been secured as part of a partnership with digital media company, Moonbug Entertainment which will see Disguise creating an official costume and accessory range for the instantly recognisable character.

“We are excited about our new partnership with Blippi,” said Tara Hefter, evp and gm of Disguise. “Blippi’s interactive, educational content resonates with both children and adults, making it an amazing heartfelt hit. We are excited to extend the brand into costume, dress-up and accessories in 2021.”

The costume and accessory licence for gaming franchise Kirby is the result of a new global partnership with Warpstar (part of Nintendo). The dress-up lines will be created in the style of the original Kirby from the video games and television animated series – which is one of the top 50 bestselling video game franchises of all time.

“The demand for gaming-themed products has exploded in recent years, and we are the worldwide leader in licensed video game costumes,” added Tara. “Kirby is
a natural fit for our portfolio as we have been Nintendo’s costume partner since 2013. We are excited to bring this adorable pink character to life, as it is sure to be a hit with fans globally.”
