The cheapest supermarket for Halloween shopping has been revealed by experts at British online marketplace OnBuy.com, with Tesco proving to be the most competitively priced.
The researchers considered a typical Halloween shopping list from the ‘big four’ supermarkets, which are all placing a major focus on Halloween this year.
The supermarkets analysed were Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s, with the data collected at the beginning of October 2019. Each supermarket’s own-brand products (or cheapest alternatives if not available) were chosen.
The list featured a wide range of items, including decor, partyware, costumes and accessories. It did not include food, drink or trick or treat sweets.
Despite not having a pumpkin carving kit available, the Tesco shop was the cheapest by some margin at just £26, while Sainsbury’s came in at a hefty £58.
Asda’s shop cost £32.71 and Morrisons (which didn’t include the wig) totalled £37.
