Brighter days are coming according to Smiffys!

Spring is in the air, the clocks are soon going forward and summer is on its way! Smiffys is excited for brighter days to come and with the roadmap out of lockdown in progress, and feels there’s an air of excitement and positivity for the coming months. What better way to celebrate the light at the end of the tunnel than good old-fashioned partying we’ve all been missing, even if it is restricted to a group of 6 for now, says the supplier of all things party and fancy dress.

“As the Easter weekend coincides with the relaxing of the rules, we believe this will see the beginning of a summer of celebration for many,” said Elliott Peckett, director at RH Smith & Sons (Smiffys).

“Countless birthdays, anniversaries and other special occasions have passed without much more than a glitchy zoom call and the Easter weekend is the first chance for families and friends to mark these events. With partying comes décor, tableware and costumes and Smiffys is hopeful for a busy spring season as customers continue to bring the party home!

“We are incredibly optimistic for 2021 as a year for the party to return. The pent-up demand to dress up and party is palpable. The ‘Roaring 20’s’ was coined as such due to the return to partying following the Spanish flu pandemic and that we fully expect to see this celebratory mood be repeated as soon as restrictions ease in early Spring.”

The company is keen to express to retailers that they want to offer full support, from virtual showcases to help with payment terms where possible. It will soon be publishing its summer predictions via weekly emails, highlighting retail opportunities from the return of festivals to hen and stag parties and more.
