BMTV on two days of filming at Spring Fair

Greg Brown, director of Total Party, Balloon Market and BMTV and the star of PartyWorldwide.net’s very own Balloon Market Buzz gives us his verdict on this year’s Spring Fair.

How was the show for you in general?

“Spring Fair felt a bit quiet on the party front in my opinion. We were there filming on the Tuesday and then back on the Wednesday. I feel some exhibitors are on the fence as to which shows work best for them now with changing markets and export opportunities growing. Some of the people we have talked to in the past are now varying which shows they take space at – Oaktree for the last two years and for the first time this year, APAC were not attending.”

What were your highlights for this year?

“I truly loved the new style Amscan stand. It was very innovative compared to more traditional display stands. As someone that doesn’t feel the need to touch and feel every product it worked for me. Clean, modern, sophisticated with technology built in. Very well designed.”

What do you think next year will hold for The Party Show?

“Without some changes, at least for exhibitors in our industry, I’m not sure how it’ll look next time, but hopefully it’ll find new ways of growing and attracting more visitors who want to expand into the balloon and party sector.  There did seem to be one exception – the Qualatex stand always seemed to have a good number of people on their stand at any one time.”

Will you be back filming Spring Fair next year?

“A little early to say.”
