Members of the Balloon and Party Industry Alliance came together to give their time to decorate the venue for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Christmas parties.
BAPIA was given the honour of organising the decorations for the Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s Christmas parties for the fifth year running.
The 30-strong team battled against the snowy elements to get to the venue on Saturday 11 December in order to create the outstanding decorations which would set the scene for the celebrations. They spent the day creating décor for four parties which saw between 1,500 and 2,000 children, family and carers having some time out to enjoy themselves.
John Bowler, BAPIA chairman, thanked the team, saying: “#GOSH2017 what a great day again! A huge thank you to Chris Horne, Tatiana Kempinski, Sheena Timmins, Samuel Stamp-Dod, and Sue Bowler you all did an amazing job with your designs, thank you so much for giving your time and effort to this.”
“Also we must give a big shout out to Qualatex, Amscan, BOC and Premium Balloon Accessories for their support of this event,” he continued.
“I must also say a special thank you to all of those who in the draw this year and to those who were lucky enough to be picked. Your support and enthusiasm is inspiring and without you it would not happen. Thank you all very much!”
The Snow Ball parties took place on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 December, and saw patients and their families enjoying themselves with visits from special guests including Bobby Lockwood, Eric Underwood, Mr Poppy, Damien O’Brien, Talia Dean and James and Tristan from The Vamps.
