In what is fast becoming an annual tradition, BAPIA members came together and volunteered to give their time to decorate the venue for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Christmas parties.
BAPIA members were given the honour of organising the balloon decor for the Great Ormond Street Hospital children’s Christmas parties for the sixth year running earlier this month and once again, the event was a huge success.
Delegates travelled from right across the UK to be a part of this fabulous day, which very soon became a group of friends working together for an extremely worthwhile cause. They spent the day creating décor for four parties which saw between 1,500 and 2,000 children, family and carers having some time out to enjoy themselves.
“I love organising this day,” commented John Bowler, chief executive of BAPIA. “I had the pleasure of helping at one of the parties this year and meeting some of the children who were a huge inspiration.”
He continued: “I could see what a difference the balloons make and it is a real opportunity for us to showcase our skills and our products. In doing so we help to make Christmas a little more special for these exceptional children.”
It is only with the support of BAPIA members and the product sponsors that the incredible décor which is on show at these parties is possible.
John went on to thank the team who generously gave up their spare time for free, saying: “I have to say a big thank you to all those who attended and those who missed out this year. I also have to give a big shout out to Amscan, BOC, Premium Balloon Accessories and Qualatex who all very generously supported the day and sponsored product to make it possible.”
GOSH is not just an opportunity to get involved in the décor, it is also a great networking opportunity with delegates gathering in the bar afterwards for a chance to reflect on the day and to exchange contact details for future events.
