Balloons join Fortnite craze

Balloons have been added to the latest gaming craze, Fortnite, as a special feature for players to use in their quest to be the ‘last man standing’.

Fans of the game looking to dress up as any of the characters from the game will be able to accessorise with a bunch of simple helium balloons, which were added to the game last week to allow characters to ‘defy gravity’.

The online computer game Fortnite is a global gaming phenomenon, with over 40million children and adults already obsessed with the 100-player PVP Battle Royale and its ‘last man standing’ gameplay.

Retailers who already carry the Fortnite costumes from Rubie’s Masquerade  – which the supplier predicts will be the ‘must-have costumes of the year’ – should be prepared to offer a bunch of three plain colour latex balloons in order to complete the look.

Fortnite was the top trending costume on Google’s Frightgeist tool which tracked Halloween trends across America.
