Angels expects to see St. Patrick’s Day boost

Taking place this Sunday 17 March, St. Patrick’s Day has always been a great excuse to have a good craic, with retailers making the most of the occasion and suppliers continuing to add to their ranges wherever possible.

“We always see an increase in sales around St Patrick’s Day,” states Emma Angel, director of Angels Fancy Dress. “It’s a big night out and customers really get into the party spirit. Leprechaun costumes are always a good seller, as are accessories.”

She continues; “Customers may not have considered dressing up for these smaller events so retailers should make sure that the costumes that retailers want to push are displayed prominently, with an attractive, well-stocked display.”

“St Patrick’s Day is becoming increasingly popular throughout Europe,” comments Mark Brett, UK agent for Boland Party. “Most large towns have an Irish pub or two and they all want to join in! The night of the week on which it falls has a big impact on its success – we expect to see some sore heads next Monday!”
