The XXIV Moscow International Balloon Festival to take place at Expocenter

The 24th Moscow International Balloon Festival will take place from September 23 to 27, 2024.

The festival is the largest industry event for balloon artists in Russia. During the event, hundreds of thousands of balloons will be inflated, practically filling the 25,000 square meter pavilion.

The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Treasures of Russia’. Teams of participants will bring to life various ideas on the platform. Moscow and regional balloon artists will depict treasures of the country in the form of figures. Representatives from international teams will use metaphors to bring Russia’s treasures to life.

Last year, 23 teams participated in the competition. Annually, the festival attracts both specialists and the public. Despite the strict age restriction of 12+ for visitors, the Expocenter hall is always filled.

In 2024, the Festival in Moscow will feature balloons from all the largest global brands, which balloon artists continue to collaborate with. Participants and guests will see an incredible variety of balloons, including new releases prepared by manufacturers specifically for the festival.

The value of the festival for professionals cannot be overstated: the event promotes the profession of balloon artists and popularises balloons as a creative medium.

The star guest of the event will be Marina Ustimenko (Vilandaboom) – a popular blogger-balloon artist in Russia and the CIS. Over six years in balloon artistry, Vilanda has built a successful business, established a school for balloon artists, initiated the charitable campaign ‘Kind Balloon’, and organised the first large-scale balloon drop in Russia with 40K balloons. Vilanda’s creative work is followed by over 550K subscribers.

The main component of the festival is the Championship in Professional Balloon Art. Teams can participate in six categories: Large Sculpture (25 hours to create a piece sized 4 by 4 metres), Balloon Costume (21 hours to create), as well as Balloon Bouquet Delivery, Black Box, 12 Minutes and Garland Speed.

In addition to the competitions, the festival programme includes:

– A series of masterclasses by world-class balloon artists

– A balloon fashion show

– A conference for owners of party supply stores

– An exhibition of balloons and equipment

*The program is subject to change.
