Rubies announces key hires and EMEA team restructure

The dress-up supplier has employed three new additions to its team.

Following a change of role for Georges Ghougassian to director of licensing & brands, Rubies has appointed Caroline Masson to lead the EMEA brand & marketing initiative. Caroline spent five years at IMC France as senior marketing manager and was previously Rubies France senior marketing manager. Caroline also has experience in sales and marketing at European level.

George has worked at Rubies for 15 years and brings a wealth of company and industry knowledge to his new role. Previously country manager for Rubies France, Georges was responsible for the relaunch of the brand nationally in 2008, as well as establishing company strategy and managing sales, marketing and finance. Prior to Rubies, Georges was head of sales at Mattel France, before becoming country manager and founder of IMC Toys France subsidiary.

The company says that Georges will play an important role in senior management, delivery a dynamic and uniformed 365 plan for Rubies B2B strategy across EMEA, as well as expanding the DTC network.

Aurelie Dilain-Waclawski has also joined the company to work with the licensing team to spearhead a total licensing focus. Aurlie’s extensive career in the licensing industry has seen her work for Hornby Hobbies for four years, before her most recent role as commercial manager for The Point.1888.

Aurelie, Georges and Caroline will work directly with Mike O’Connell, managing director and the wider Pan European teams at Rubies.

Mike commented: “As the company prepares for expansion to support growth, following successful remodelling, we are constantly reviewing our internal structure to ensure we can pivot and cater to the demands of the market.

“Georges’ experience is unquestionable. The appointment of Caroline to focus on brand and marketing has everybody excited. Likewise with Aurelie, as with Caroline, she brings a wealth of experience and shares the passion and drive that is at the heart of everything we are doing.”
