The dress-up supplier is collaborating with the toy superstore on a marketing initiative promoting imagination and creativity in children.
Titled Create-a-costume, participants are encouraged to design their own dress-up in either a super suit or princess dress template. One winner for each category will be chosen by a panel of industry experts to have their design turned into a real costume, made by Rubies. Each winner will also receive a £100 gift card.
The competition will be hosted on a new custom web page, createacostume.fun, where entrants can find all the information along with with downloadable templates for their designs and an upload area, where their costume concepts will be sent off for judging.
Fran Hales, head of content and marketing at Rubies UK, commented: “At Rubies, we understand that a costume is bought to life by imagination. We hope this initiative sparks the minds of children across the country and encourages their creativity. We love to see how the power of dress-up can inspire young people and help to build confidence and creativity within individuals and know that this competition will lead children to explore their imagination in a comfortable and fun setting.
“On top of all this, the prizes we have available to win of one completely custom costume for two lucky winners each is like nothing we’ve ever offered before. We can’t wait to see what our entrants will come up with.”
