Gemar launches virtual balloon flash mob

With many communities and businesses coming together to support each other in new and innovative ways, Gemar has launched a free virtual balloon flash mob, accessible to anyone around the world.

The new initiative will see balloon company Gemar bringing some joy to all through the chance to learn a new skill, connect with a community of balloon artists, and create something beautiful.

Each day, at 7pm and 8pm CET (GMT+1) the Gemar social platforms will be handed over to a Gemar Master or Ambassador who will entertain and inform the audience, demonstrating the creation of a balloon sculpture and answering questions. The sessions will be held in a variety of languages, so that everyone has the opportunity to take part.

“The free initiative offers a chance for everybody to forget their worries for an hour and immerse themselves in creativity, colour, fun and the joy of balloons,” said marketing manager Clara Vaugelade-Tafani.

The launch took place on Saturday 21 March, when Gemar donated €1 to the Covid-19 Response Fund for each person who logged in to watch live, making a total of €4736, in addition to ongoing donations.

The money has been donated to support the WHO’s work to understand the COVID-19 virus, develop vaccines, tests and treatments, ensure that patients receive the care they need and ensure that essential supplies are available to frontline workers. Gemar hopes that this first flash mob won’t just lift the moment for those who take part, it will also help to make a real difference in the global response effort.

Find out more about the sessions and how to sign up to watch live, on the Gemar Facebook and Instagram pages.
