Party City opens additional New Jersey branch

US-based party retail group Party City has opened an additional branch in the state of New Jersey, in Rockaway Townsquare shopping mall.

The store, which is located just outside the mall’s perimeter, has opened in an old Toys R Us location ‘just in time for Halloween’, according to Amanda Anderson, marketing director for Simon Property Group, which manages the shopping centre.

The store opened with a soft launch last week, but a grand opening event will be taking place on Saturday 28 September, from 10am onwards.

The event will feature an appearance by Batman (complete with Batmobile) as well as a local radio host who will be welcoming shoppers. Discounts and giveaways will also be available and the first 100 shoppers will receive a $20 Party City gift card.

Party City announced earlier this year that it intends to close 45 of its 870 stores before the end of 2019.
