“The strong content calendar will see sales increase”

Mel Beer, Amscan’s licensing director EMEA, talks new dress-up franchises and upcoming portfolio additions.

As we reach the halfway point of 2019, PartyWorldwide.net’s sister publication LicensingSource.net caught up with a selection of licensees to find out how the year has been so far, the main challenges and big successes and what hopes they have for the remainder of the year.

Talking to Mel, LicensingSource was told that: “We’ve had solid start to the year but our Q1 growth has continued to come from generic designs, rather than licences.”

“However,” she continued, “we believe the strong content calendar for 2019 will see our licensed sales increase as the year unfolds and we’re super excited by the new dress-up franchises we’ve added to our portfolio for World Book Day 2020 – more on these very soon…”
