Budget Greeting Cards prepares to open additional branches

The UK’s largest greeting card and party wholesaler, Budget Greeting Cards (BGC), is planning to open an additional five branches across the UK later this year.

The news comes less than two months after Canadian private equity company Ardenton Capital acquired 51% of the company.

BGC’s eight existing branches are in Belfast, Birmingham, Bradford, Bristol, Dublin, Dunstable, Gateshead and Manchester. Nottingham has been confirmed as one of the new locations, with an opening planned for this summer, while the other potential spots are being kept under wraps.

The Dunstable branch of greeting card and partyware wholesaler Budget Greeting Cards is also moving premises in the next few months, as reported back in March.

The company is also making moves to refresh its website, with a full trading version expected to go live in autumn 2020.

The Dunstable move is expected to be complete by the end of the summer and retailers and balloon decorators have been reassured that there will be no disruption to their service.
